Clearance Mobiles?
Hi all,
I'm looking at getting a new phone, preferably a HTC, I don't really know much about phone contracts at all, as I have never had one, but upon searching I have come across these Clearance deals, and they seem very very good, but I don't know what the catch is, can someone tell me how these deals are so good?
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply, but this cant be the reason can it?old phones, end of line models........
I cant post links as a new user but if you visit :
buymobilephones . net
There is a [HTC Desire] and a [HTC Desire Clearance]
There is quite a big difference in price.
On the Three Internet Texter 500 option it is £30 on the normal one and £20 on the Clearance one.0 -
The HTC desire HD is due to be announced on September 15th, which is bound to become the more popular model, which is probably why the standard model is in clearance. On the other hand, they may just want to get rid of their stock branded with 3 contracts.0

That's amazing, I still cant understand it, they are practically giving it away.
Still don't understand how they can sell a clearance version side be side with the full price one :l
EDIT:
On further research it appears that 'Clearance' phones are ex-demo or returned phones (tho i'm not 100% sure), if anyone has any experience with them can you help, thanks!0 -
Chances are they are returned handsets under a change of mind/distance selling option. They can't resell the handsets as new, hence the discount. They are refurbed and software reflashed - in the majority of cases if you didn't know, you'd never find out.0

They are 24 month contracts, which does add up. Their t-mobile deals on 18 month contracts are much cheaper if you add it all up, but that obviously depends on your needs. I guess you are rewarded for hunting around the website for the clearance deal, where the lazy ones get caught out with the more expensive options and don't even realise it.0

"This handset is a refurbished clearance item and offers a huge discount off the original retail price. Refurbished handsets are usually ex-demo or returned products, which we have reconditioned and repackaged, although they may carry some minor cosmetic imperfections. All refurbs come with a battery and charger as standard, although other accessories are not guaranteed. They also come with a full 12 month warranty."Stompa0

I have just taken an HTD Desire Clearance on 3 Internet Talker 900 for £20 per month. The phone arrived with all accessorise in a '3' 'Refurbished Handset' box and was blemish free. To all intents and purposes, it looks and works like a brand new phone. I was well pleased with the deal on offer (900 mins or texts, 1Gb internet for £20pm + £39.99 for the desire). Got mine from buymobilephones.co.uk who I have used before and were fine.
I don't like cashback deals so this was ideal for me.0
