wanted condenser tumble dryer.

Hi
my tumble dryer died yesterday after 27 yrs of service. It was given to us second hand by out neighbor 9 yrs ago.
can anyone recommend a good economicle dryer. and the best place to buy one. I would prefer hotpoint and also one that tells u when your clothers are dry would be good. having never bought a tumble dryer before I thought I should seek advice first.
so it anyone knows where I can get a good deal please let me know
many thanks.

As for my old tumble dryer. RIP.

  • Bought a bosch classix condenser dryer recently, am very happy with it. Different settings, stops when it has done it's stuff! Easy to empty etc. Got this from Comet(about £400 I think) on one of their monthly schemes with washing machine. Just make sure monies are paid well before end of agreement otherwise they charge the earth!!

  • Got an Indesit T/D late last year, it lasted a week before the drum disintegrared, so I certainly wouldn't reccomend that particular brand!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

I have a hotpoint condensor tumble drier, it's fabulous, I looked through index catalogue to get model codes then did price comparisons online, saved about £50 that was 3 years ago though.

I have no idea how much it charges to use but we have never noticed an increase in our bills, account still in credit each time by a few £. It is a clever one which calculates how long to dry for, it's reliable unless the water bit needs emptying.

If you need more info, please ask, I'd leap out to the garage now & get the model details but it's raining & I'm scared of slugs.

Hope the void in your life is filled soon, tumble driers are fab

    Happy to help

It says on it Hotpoint Ultima electronic condenser TDC 60, like I said it was about 3 years ago but it is a great machine, let me know if I can help anymore.

(Buying a silver appliance when your entire kitchen is white is not recommended which is why the poor thing is deemed to live in the garage, it seems happy enough though)
  • I have just ordered the hotpoint ultima from lxdirect. using your discount codes I have saved myself £40.06. Fantastic.

Thank you so much for your help and advice. I'm forever grateful.
