HELP Cant get back on the net after turning off at the mains

Daughter has tried turning off at the mains to see if the ntl upgrade can go through they have uopgraded free from 1mb to 2mb but it wasnt showing up She has done some maintenance on the laptop before doing this win update, ccleaner, spybot, adaware, zone alarm all was working ok the last thing she updated was some…
