what is the difference between an ipod touch 1st g

    Hello,

    Among the main differences is that the 1st generation iPod touch did NOT have a built in speaker whereas the later generations do.

    This next quote is taken from the wiki article posted above:
    The 2nd generation iPod Touch, featuring external volume controls, a built-in speaker, a contoured back, built-in Nike+, Bluetooth support, and the ability to connect a microphone, was unveiled on September 9, 2008, at the "Let's Rock" keynote presentation.

    1st gens didnt have blue tooth .

    2nd gen 8GB is the latest version of that. only the 32GB and 64GB versions are 3rd generation which has increased processor.

    2nd gen also don't work well with OS4
