I did buy the book and did find it useful, then sold it on Amazon marketplace and by chance starting talking to the girl who bought it from me on here! The book gives you the basics and fundamentals the website gives you the extras is probably how I'd sum it up.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

I bought Martin's book purely on the basis that it shows support for him, this site and his consumer revenge philosophy. I think it's very easy to take this site and Martin's excellent work (which we do receive for free!) for granted and spending £7 (or less if you're a real MSE and buy it from Amazon) on his book is the least I could do to show my appreciation. (My dad also bought it on this basis, and we bought a 3rd for a non-MSE family member for last Christmas. I'm not sure he read it but at least we tried...)
It's true, some of the advice in there is pure common sense... but it's clear that a lot of people lack this otherwise they wouldn't be urinating their money up the wall or be in the significant financial mess that they are.
Above all else, it's a very entertaining read, thanks to Martin's energetic writing style. Don't forget, there are a lot of people who still don't access the internet that much, let alone this site, and plenty more who are in dire need of his suggestions (i'm being careful not to say "advice" here). For those people, his book could be a lifeline.
I know i've saved £100s thanks to this site and buying "The Money Diet" was the least I could do to show my gratitude, appreciation and support. Well done and thank you, Martin, for your great articles, this great site and your great book.

I know others on here love it, perhaps they could explain why.

did I say it was dudleyboy, was just pointing out that it is not necessarily useful to everyone.
However, as someone else mentioned buying it, is helping Martin and he does seem to provide lots for free here one way or another.

Hi
No, you're right, he hasn't read it. And he won't - he's defiantly resistant to it. But then you know that already!
