When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Morning everyone  hope everyone is happy today. Ah its payday tomorrow, for the 2nd month in a row I've had a positive bank balance, strange-good feeling in that! And for the first time in about 8 months I am not completely skint
SJ1 I've been thinking aout your shopping bill and have some thoughts. If it were me, although its more complicated I would do a big/monthly shop at Asda (as its further away I'd go less often) and get the things that are good value/cheaper there. I would also then split the rest of my shopping between Sains & Tescos. I buy value/basics for a lot of things, pasta, potatos etc that makes no differrence if its basics as its still the same ingredients. I would also try to work out the times when things are reduced at your local supermarkets and try to shop around those times to get as much reduced as possible & freeze. hth x
ok better do this list & get myself ready...
- [STRIKE]drive carefully to work & back[/STRIKE]
- update expenses form for my 4 miles yesterday (:o) nope but have made a note of it all to update tomorrow...
- check onepoll
- [STRIKE]grab something from the cupboards for lunch[/STRIKE] leftover mousaka mmmmmmmmmmm
- [STRIKE]get steaks out of freezer for dinner[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]be efficient at work, and "try to keep my head..." [/STRIKE] kinda, got a reasonable amount done, and had some potential good news (:j) someone has expressed an interest in one of my vacant positions (fingers crossed!)
- water toms
- [STRIKE]charge phone at work[/STRIKE]
- write cheque for overpayment to CB  so I can post tomorrow
- [STRIKE]check banking[/STRIKE]
- maybe clean my car in my lunch break
(I vacuum it briefly yesterday as I thought I was taking clients in my car, its amazing what a difference it makes!) nope
- order another hose for shower  we have been without a shower now for about 6 weeks (bought 2, 1 had a hole in so we returned & got a refund the other hasn't arrived and the seller just returned the money on ebay when I emailed. So what a false economy, I've probably run up my water bill higher than the expensive hose in B&Q!)

DNM - the shred is basically a 30 day exercise program over 3 levels. You start on level 1, and each of the levels is 20 minutes long (you have 10 days at each level) Each level has 3 parts...warm up, then stage 1 - 3 minutes strength, 2 mins cardio, 1 min abs repeated x3. Each level has this structure but different exercises. You have to stick at it, and it is hard to start with, but you do see a difference.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Hi All
Thanks for the post Determined. I might try that. I did try something similar once by using Tesco as the cheap shop but these days there isn't much difference between that and Sainsburys, which is my closest. I might have a look online as well and see what sort of difference it would make. If I recall right, mysupermarket do a comparison thing which may well help.
I am going to try to list my books on Amazon tonight. This always takes ages but I am not going to read them again so may as well sell them and stop buying new ones and go to the library instead! I have also started putting clothes and shoes to one side for ebay. You were talking about your shower hose false economy, I bought a pair of black work shoes from Bicester village outlet. I think they were £29 for a pair of LK Bennetts which I was delighted with! Got them home and wore them to work once. They were so high I could hardly stand up, much less walk! Sooooo dopey.
Have a good evening all - omelettes with left overs for us tonight. It may be a slightly odd meal.....

Just in case some of you don't look too much at the other boards - The Sun newspaper has a £5 off a £40 spend (Tescos) in it tomorrow, not sure when it expires but it will be a week I expect.0

Did almost finish my book (6 hours travelling on work time isn't so bad) but boring and tiring apart from that.
Sold my sunglasses on ebay
Got my £80 expenses paid(Just another £250 to claim )
