Neighbour threw raw sewage in garden

I want to have a rant,,,,, our house shares a septic tank with our neighbour it seems that the tank was blocked, I caught my neighbour throwing buckets of sewage over the fence into our garden, i approached him very calmly as I did have a foul mouth fall before!!! he blamed us for blocking the tank etc which i have denied.
he eventually apologised as he realised he was in the wrong. what i would like to know is legally what can be done?
thanks, rant over

report it to environmental health? it is a big health issue. or accept his apology and forget it. It would depend how much of a mess he has made in your garden and what needs done in order to clean it up?BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0

Oh that is HORRIBLE :eek::eek::eek:
In Scotland we have SEPA, scottish environmental protection agency and I know that they have the power to issue fines to businesses etc who do not follow their rules so Im wondering if there is an English equivalent?Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -
Hi OP,
Sorry to hear about this. How awful for you.
Have you considered ringing your local council and asking them what you can do? I imagine environmental health may be interested...

Hi,
That was a crap thing to do....
How do you know you didn't block it? Did none have your name on them? Wrong colour and shape?0 -
It doesn't matter who blocked it, by all means they could come and talk to you and arrange between you to share the cost of unblocking it.. But to just throw buckets of raw sewerage around? _pale_ Yeah that's gonna make the OP dig deep, not.
I'd be absolutely furious as my children play in my garden and anyone exposing them to sewerage would result in an immediate visit from environmental health, I'd inform every relevant agency and probably tell the anti social behavior team of the local police, (even if you only see pretend policemen it's all logged) because it doesn' get much more anti social than that, imo!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

that is just disgusting:eek:
i would definatly at least phone your local council and ask to speak to the relevant people, imagine kids had been playing in the garden at the time or pets, it is not on and make sure you report it. :mad:one debt vs 100 days challenge: £0/£6000 -
Environmental health dept! Whatever/however he should not be doing such a disgusting action.0

This is really a disgusting action, I would say politely once but it happens again and again I will take strict action against them0

It is horrid, yes, but having had problems with neighbours before that quickly escalated I would say that you should politely insist that they clear up the mess themselves but try to keep things civil- also remember that you have to declare past disputes with neighbours when you sell.Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams

According to me you should ask them politely about it first before taking any strict action but it should not happen again , if it happens then you can take action0
