My husband may get a promotion and i am just curious if we can try to move to an area where we can get more for our money and may still see an increase in house prices.
We currently live in Worthing Wes Sussex and would be looking if possible to stay on the coast. We are looking anywhere after brighton up to around the Folkestone area we would need at least a good sized 2 bed but preferably a 3 bed terrece (even if it needs some moderisation) for £150,000.
We will have a young baby so school isn't immediately an issue but would be in future
Your thoughts or suggestions for an up and coming area? or the names of small towns we wouldn't know.

Hastings is on the up (mind you they have been saying that for years, but smart restaurants etc are movin in)
Dover area?Pawpurrs x0 -
How close to the coast do you want to be? If you come about 10 miles or so inland from Hastings, there are beautiful villages between Battle & Rye.
Where would your husband be commuting to?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

How about Seaford? Not a bad area, good schools but much cheaper property than Brighton etc.0

hastings isnt that bad! If you pick the right area, and property is still reasonable, and may well be a good place to invest, lot of chelseaites moving down (hang on that may be a good reason, not to buy, lol!)Pawpurrs x0

Yup - there's a lot of money going in to the regeneration of Hastings. Still got the biggest land-based fishing fleet in Europe. And some beautiful property crying out for refurbishment. The sea front at St Leonards, just West of Warrior Square looks fantastic - a lot of properties have been restoredlot of chelseaites moving down
Groan(hang on that may be a good reason, not to buy, lol!)

Cheers everyone... Hastings was my instinct so may look around there and Battle and Rye; also Seaford. Dover may be worth a look too; however hubby will be an area Manager so traveling around the sounth East and not sure Dover would be the most convinient.
Once again thanksjulybride
