I m not a chav nor am I a snob, I like a decent standard of cleanliness, do not like to be where people swear around children. I like an atmosphere suitable for children yet still feel chilled out.
yes I actually like Haven. I have only been to 2 parks and they are both in Dorset, Weymouth Bay and Rockley Park.
Rockley by far was the nicest place I have stayed down south and we have been going for 5 years. I always upgrade my caravan to the superior or platinum and often add the weekend before on to it aswell. I rarely pay full price and if I can get one book through the suns 9.50 holidays.
We are normally back in our caravan for 8pm as I have 2 small children so if there is terrible behaviour perhaps I miss it?
I ve put this on here as in other threads Haven and the like are getting a bit of a slating, and like I say the places where I have been have been good. We rarely eat on the parks as we like to find a nice pub where we can get 2 meals for £9 and normally these places have a soft play to entertain the children.
Don' t rule Haven out til you ve tried it, and please dont lynch me for admitting I like it!! lol.

I like Haven too and have been going with my children and grandchildren on and off for years.... like you we tend not to use onsite facilities much with the exception of the swimming pool and games... we also prefer finding somewhere out to eat and do like to explore the local areas, the Havens in Norfolk and Wales are in some beautiful spots... for the price they are clean and well maintained... I agree with you Kerry don't knock it if you haven't tried it..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

thanks for posting this!! I like them too - have been to Devon Cliffs, Littlesea, Perran Sands and Kiln Park - we are going to Rockley Park on 30 Aug and New Quay West Wales in October -like you we are back in the caravan by 8pm as we have a 2 year old - shes ready to go as soon as Rory & Bradley are finished - we then go back - put her to bed and then we cook a meal - I havent seen any 'bad' behaviour either.
we upgrade too and have always been very happy - we use the site as a base to explore the area and use the pool too - and always book through the sun hols - have stayed an extra night as we have enjoyed it too!!
thanks again

Just booked out holiday through http://www.gocaravanholidays.com as long as you don't go during the sun 9.50 holiday periods when every idiot in the world seems to descend on Haven parks they are a good holiday.
Rockley park is one of the better parks and is great for relaxing on.0 -
Looking further north, i would like to recommend the Berwick holiday centre.... We have been to quite a few parks in the north and this one stands out by miles. We go every year... Like other posters we keep ourselves to ourselves... There s loads to do like Bamburgh, Seahouses, Farne Islands, Holy Island to name a few or you could just have a day at the lovely beach crab fishing or rock pooling... weather permiting of course.......0

thanks for commenting guys nice to hear good things about places for once!! I tried to get devon cliffs this year but was unsuccessful in my 9.50 hol hunt. I will continue to use these as my little girl turns 4 and starts school I would nt be able to afford holidays there other wise. Yes I am sure alot of people who i would nt particularly holiday with will also continue to book at the same time, however, really that is the luck of the draw. I laughed quite alot yesterday when I was reading a thread about Centre Parcs and how its a middle class holiday, please, have you heard yourself I thought, anybody who works there can get their family in for pittance (not that they are undesireables, hope you get my meaning) and book far enough ahead and your only looking at £200 quid!! When more and more of us are holidaying in the UK its refreshing to have nice comments and I will be watching to see what others say about Haven in the hope I can book next year. Kerry x0

You do need a car though if you wish to venture off. and if you are luck enough you may get to see the Royal Marines doing their heli training, wonderful sight, (not just the men in uniform ;-)).
Have a wonderful time and please let me know how you get on. xx0 -
I joke about Haven being for chavs .... but (in my defence) I have been to Haven at Prestatyn, and was pleasantly surprised. I think the latest we stayed out was around 11pm and I didn't see any drunken behaviour; I also felt it was safe to have our baby out in his buggy (asleep) with us in the evening. We only ate on-site once and then found cheaper places outside; but we spent a good many saved 2ps in the arcade in the evenings!
We're going on a £9.50 holiday in September and Haven was our first choice, but we've ended up at a Park Resorts place instead. I'm looking forward to comparing it to Haven.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Haven is a lovely place to go within the UK, for a holiday.
I have been to Weymouth bay with my wife, we didn't really like that one very much, limited parking and you had to park on the grass, end of season it's all muddy and you have to walk across this each time to get to and from the caravan.
We have stayed at over 4 Haven parks and always found them very clean, tidy and well maintained.
Admittedly not the best holiday ever, but a we had a lovely time, staff always very friendly.
Don't listen to much to the horror reviews you'll find on line, some people expect to much for to little!0 -
