TO cut a long story short,

Bought a HTC wildfire on contact with DAP on vodafone, on an 18 month contract. Deal also includes a 10 monhts free redemption cashback.....just around a month now the mobile repeatedly become faulty and been on my 3rd mobile now and the problems still persist. Problem is that when i run any applications in background, the mobile does not respond to calls and freezes...otehr party cant hear me....need to pull the battery out and in....been vexed with this problem...after all this is not just a phone but a SMART phone which should handle both the apps and the calls at a time.....checked free memory more than 135mb free but the problem persists....

Now the DAP offers me a replacement phone.....but can anyone suggest what to expect from them.....i am expecting atleast similar features....a flash 5mp camera, android 2.1 and atleast the same amount of RAM (512MBs)......

has any one had similar problem and what have they been offered....how to negotiate.....i am completely new to this, hence any help is greatly appreciated....

many thanks,
Narika.

  • If the handset is faulty, it is up to you whether you opt to have it repaired, replaced, or to end the contract. Under the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, these remedies are afforded to the consumer.

    Hope this helps.

    The SGSA does cover it to a certain extent but the OP was asking what phone to expect as replacement not whether they are entitled to it
    I don't think the act covers models of phones available
    It's not just about the money
  • I was simply making the thread creator aware of the other options, as you will note, they are 'new' to issues such as these.

    ::::a quick update:::

    The best mobile they can offer was Samsung WAVE mobile phone....i am just wondering is this mobile any good. I am a fool if i dont like android os and their app store....but i really dont like the display on wildfire which really sucks...
    my only gripe would be that thsi mobile runs on BADA operating system....can anybody suggest me if I am right in going for wave from wildfire???are there any apps at all for BADA? I normally use my mobile for browsingadn watching few video clips...i dont do any social networking stuff...but i would like to see the calendar of my gmail to integrate with mobile's....looking at this requirements can anybody suggest if i will be convinced with BADA's Samsung Wave at all?
    Thanks for yoru comments

    Hi Narika,
    I've no idea but perhaps if you start a new thread regarding the Samsung Wave other users may see it and comment on it ???
    It's more likely to get a response with Samsung wave in the title ;)
