But, if the contract has been concluded, then the mistake was not obvious.

To a person, sure. But when things are automated, as on the interweb, it's far easier for even obvious mistakes to happen. I'm torn on this one; part of me thinks that after the event, mistakes can't be rectified. But I'm not so sure.

That is why if the error is noted prior to despatch the retailer is within their rights to cancel the sale.

As the item has now been delivered, the retailers have no rights to the product of extra money.

Exactly. Unless this came to court (or someone can quote some case law, ie. a similar previous case) then it's difficult to judge.

It's an academic argument anyway and not necessarily relevant to the OP, who's yet to give any specifics.

I'd be interested to know too.

If it was a laptop at £499 instead of £699 for example, I don't think anyone would disagree.

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Sorry, can't find at the mo; but it's standard contract law (obvious mistake renders the contract void).

I cant see this being true either, they accepted the offer so no mistake or not, tough luck.

But if you can provide statute or case law to the contrary then ill listen up.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

The contract is concluded, they can whistle tbh.

You could always tell them you accidentally overpaid by about £200 and would like a refund. If they laugh... explain thats exactly what they are doing to you and hang up.
