Hi,
I made an order last week with an online company and it looks like there was a problem with their website and it was giving more discount than it should have done.
The problem has now been flagged up and the company have been in contact and asked for either the money or the goods back. I was just wondering where I stand on this?
Thanks,
Dan

So the goods have been delivered?
If that's the case then it's a done deal and the company can whistle.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Asking for the goods back!?
Cheeky as fu*k but fair play to the for trying I suppose...0 -
How did you pay though dan_l? If they have your card details, i.e. the 16 digit number and the security code, you might well find that they process a payment for the difference...."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Thanks for the quick replies, I thought this would be the case as the goods had already been delivered.
Thanks

If there's a good chance they'll do what Fluffnutter says I'd cancel the card. Cheeky basta*ds.0

The thing is, if a company makes a genuine mistake and advertises something at too low a price, you're not actually 'entitled' to have those goods at the reduced price. However, I'm not sure what happens when the transaction is complete (as it is in your case). I'm hoping the law's on your side, but I couldn't honestly advise. That's why I'm being cautious and suggesting that the company might try to take the difference from your card. This would be perfectly possible, but I don't know if it's legal.
Hopefully someone who's more genned up on consumer law might be able to advise."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
