My daughter is currently living and working in Spain. Before she left the UK, at the end of April 2010, she contacted Orange to suspend her mobile phone contract until she returned home (probably October). She was promised that this would be OK and to contact Orange when she returned to the UK. She did the same thing last year with NO problems whatsoever. She received a letter from Orange dated 23rd April confirming that the account had been suspended.
To cut a long story short. This company have contacted me on several occasions & each time they are saying they have no record of previous correspondence etc. HELP!

Forward them a copy of the letter with a covering note saying 'please see attached'0

Orange call this a temporary disconnection and it is allowed for a maximum of 6 months per contract period and the diconnected period is then added on to the initial contract time when the person comes back.My daughter is currently working abroad. It means there are NO charges for this period.
I have just sorted this out for my daughter who is also working abroad and when she contacted Orange herself they failed to tell her of this option and said she just had to keep on paying full amount for something she's not using:eek:.
\it seems with Orange you need to be in the know about the options BEFORE you speak to them as they are less than forthcoming in what you get told.
Can you get your daughter to give you 3rd party authority on her account so you can sort it for her from a UK landline or a mobile?0 -
The point I was trying to make was have Orange put your daughter onto a 'temporary disconnection' - wording in the letter you got should clarify this- or have you fallen foul of a muck up by their system.
You need to know exactly what they DO have on her notes to know what has gone wrong and therefore how to fix it.
Good Luck.:o0
