'best way' into choosing what car is to test drive lots... you get two poeple on the insurance free with a mo' car. always best to have an idea of what type u want... in ur case a spacious people carrier... and think about what fuel u want. the paying towards better models is called advance payment (AP) all the main car dealer websites have mootability sections giving u the latest deals / prices / list and how to find ur local dealer
here are a few: ( just seen that all vauxhall models are available with no advance payment if u order before end of september... that includes things like the zafira )

Thank you all..
At the moment the car is used pretty much solely for hospital/therapist runs and school runs.. I have been sending DS3 with DD2 she drops him at primary school on the way to high school and the 3 little ones fit in the focus.. However, 2 weeks ago we had another baby so with the 3 to drop at primary school we cannot fit them and the baby in the focus... so need at least a 6 seater just for the school run.. the child we have been given the DLA for cannot comfortably walk to school as it causes her pain... and I cannot leave the baby home alone by herself.
I don't drive so the car would be in my partners name, he is unfortunately out of work currently and other than a trip to his mothers once a month while the children are with their dad and the odd run to tesco we rarely use the car without children. During the holidays/weekends we do need to fit 6/7 children in usually.. though we would manage with an 8 seater most of the time.. much easier than borrowing my mother and her 7 seater volvo and OH and 3 in with us.. just to go out for the day at any rate!!
I get DLA for 3 of the children usually.. I am waiting on 1 renewal and 1 claim to go through at the moment. paying a deposit wouldn't be a problem though I may have to save a few months to afford it I could work it out of the budget.
Plenty for me to be browsing there.. thanksLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi Pigpen
Our local Vauxhall had a great deal on a Zafira under their Motability scheme, with no deposit at all. I think it was a basic 1.4 or 1.6, but was v nice!! And it seats up to 7!!
Was looking for my little man while Xandersdad was getting his car MOT'd- he's only 2 at the mo so doesn't get mobility but no harm in researching!!
Hope you find what you are looking for

You could buy a second hand minibus and make the payments using the childrens' DLA mobility?

Hi
I only have 6 kids and my disabled child currently gets high care and low rate mobility, so we do not qualify for motability scheme, but we drive a Minibus. 13 seater, but took 3 seats out of the rear to fit all the kids stuff (pushchairs, and anything they need) The tax is cheaper (although I am sure yours will be free) and it is great for everyone. MPV's are rubbish for large families and you generally have no boot! It is easy to drive once you get used to it and provided you have an ordinary license then it is perfectly legal.
Good Luck:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0 -
Can you keep the current car and get a car on motability too? Or does that work out too expensive?Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
