CTL Parking Charge/Penalty/Fine

Hi, can anyone give me advice please? Firstly, I received a parking charge notice from a private company called Central Ticketing Ltd. I had parked at the so-called "free" metrolink car park, Navigation Rd. It was full so I parked considerately against a railing. The problem is, I didn't park in a marked bay (as per their notice). However, this private company is fining me for "obstruction" and as I was definitely NOT obstructing anyone or anything, I do not want to pay it.
I have already made the mistake of answering the first letter and trying to appeal (therefore admitting I was the driver). I have received 3 letters so far, the latest being a debt collectors letter and the cost has gone up from the original £65 if paid early, to a whopping £147!!
Any advice at all would be extremely welcome,

Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

• do not pay
• do not contact them again
• ignore their junkmail
• ignore any junk from powerless debt collectors
• they will give up and go away
• they will not take you to court
All you have is an unenforceable invoice. Ignore and relax.
Central Ticketing are well known.0 -
It's such a common scam that almost everyone on this board has had at least one private parking ticket and ignored it (mine was over a year ago). There is no risk in ignoring everything in the absence of sealed, genuine Court papers, which won't come.
Just ignore them and the debt collector letters. Funnily enough I was only looking at my collection of debt collector letters yesterday and laughing at them. You can see a preview of the letters to ignore, in the first post of the first thread on this board (click on the Central Ticketing letters and you can see what will come next):
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163
Plus you'll see by the number of current threads (of which there are pages and pages!) on that link, just how common this scam is. Your question has been asked before lots of times, this thread is one of hundreds! Read some threads on the link above, then look back pages and pages and pages - except for the odd Police or Council ticket and clamping case - all of those threads are from people like you.
All the same, all ignored, doesn't matter who the PPC is. Nothing will happen.
You will just get some free paper aeroplanes (see this Watchdog link to see why that's funny!). Do show your husband these replies and these links:

NEVER pay a private parking ticket. Think no more of it apart from to spread the word.

Really glad I found this forum.. but is it too late??
Received threatening letter number 1 today. Was a mite shocked at the £147 bill for parking next to my local (on private land where I have parked regularly with no problems). And the half pint I had wasn't even that great but that is bye the by
I called the 'Roxy' folks to complain and to get Central Tkt's number so I could give them some grief. (I had binned the ticket the day I found it) Called Central Tkt's but their office was closed.
THEN I found these posts. I'm beginning to regret even having SPOKEN to the Roxburghe lot at all..
Am I too late to ignore these b'strds? Have I given them the go ahead to harass me by having called Roxburghe?
Any advice appreciated, thanks0 -
You are not to late ignore them, if you speak Roxburghe again if they phone you, ask them when do they start pretending to be GW (Graham White solicitors), use those initials exactly as they have been proven to try and scam you by pretending they are solicitors.
Also inform them that you know these tickets are unenforceable and if they want to take you to court they will lose as there is no loss involved, their obstruction on the ticket is meaningless, like their invoice!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Thanks Taffy
I didn't give them my number (though their pre-recorded message prompted me to... devils) so hopefully they won't call me back.
Will be ignoring their correspondence at any rate. Chancers.0 -

Don't contact them any more at all and save your money, after all it is a money saving forum.
Let them waste theirs, begging you to give them some of your hard earned.
Have a nice little chuckle when a begging letter comes through your letter box. Ignore them. The parasites.0
