i have thought of this but when i made a call to increase overdraft, the lady said you graduated last year and i said no i will graduate next year and she said well you've taken the full amount out and wil need to pay back £1400 as i am not in final year, but i would have been if i dint take a year out for placement which didnt go to plan anyway! and i have no money to pay them back and i am worried that i may not get an overdraft increase for final year this september wen i ask for it0 -
I have a natwest account but wasn't entitled to anything except a £500 overdraft as I was a second year student when I opened it (I was with Lloyds for the first year)
However I have changed Uni and will be starting from Year 1 in September so need to see whether I will have to open a new account or if I can just change the end year of my graduation on the account i already haveSaved: £1566.53/ £20000 -

but what will happen if i have to give the money back straight up? meaning the £1400 the advisor told me over the phone i have to give back or would that be at the end of my course,im not earning at the moment and in my gap year. the advisor over the phone told me i had to go into a branch and tell them that i have not graduated yet and the overdraft i am on of £2000 at the moment, i will have to repay £1400 of it but still its confusing me! when i said i havnt graduated yet she told me i will have to go into a branch and tell them and will have to pay £1400 but that doesnt make sense as it would leave me with £600????
would i still be eligible for the overdraft wen i return in september?
what do i do? just go into the bank and explain everything that i was to go into final year but last minute i found a placement for the year and took the year out but things have not worked out??
when do we start paying back overdrafts?i dont want to leave his and be charged while im still going back to uni0 -
i don't know..... but the bank will. i personally deal better with what will happen rather than a hundred different what ifs.... i'd suggest you also spend some time on the website looking at T&Cs about the account to see what happens when you graduate and when you pay it back. the details are out there!:happyhear0

Natwest have been good to be considering I have an awful credit rating!
I had a £500 limit for my first year, got to April this year (2nd year but repeating SOME of 1st so still a 1st year student) and was able to increase it to £1100 to pay my rent.
I wonder if they credit checked me?Money money money.
