my door bell is driving me crazy!

This is quite bizarre, I bought a doorbell from ASDA (Model: SC375R) which works over wireless. When people push the button I get what would be considered a normal door bell tune, however every now and then it will randomly play a verse of Old Mcdonald and there's nobody at the door  what's this all about?!

My doorbell would ring and there was no one there. One day I opened it and saw the Postie a few doors down, asked him if he had seen anyone. He said it was the wind that for some reason with wireless doorbells, it caused them to ring, he got this a few times walking down the road.
I bought a new doorbell that specifically said it wasn't affected by wind and neighbours (!) (supposedly, sometimes, someone ringing a neighbour's doorbell, could set yours off!).0 -
It could be anything from the neighbours bell being on the same frequency to a car's remote control setting it off when someone unlocks their car outside !0

I'm glad I'm not the only onem Ine does the normal ring tone if someone pushes it but my old kentucky home on it's own !0

Yep when mine rang on it's own, it was tie a yellow ribbon.....0

Interesting, I guess the car remote locking makes sense. I just don't understand why this doorbell has a verse of Old Mcdonald programmed into it when there's no option to change the tune lol0

Ours plays up like that - we take the batteries out before we go to bed because sometimes in goes off in the middle of the night!0

Mine does exactly the same. Pretty annoying really but hey ho!"We are the change that we seek."0

There is a walkaround in the manual which details how to change the frequency to prevent another owner setting yours off; and how to change the tunes.0

When I first moved into my house I had a battery powered door bell fitted. It was not in any way connected to the mains electricity supply. Nearby is the living room. Switching the living room light on or off rang the doorbell. Wasn't my imagination - other people witnessed it. Problem was solved by removing the battery operated bell and getting an old fashioned wind up one.0
