Hmmmm. Gadget looks like a friendly way of getting rid of them but what if it doesn't fully hold them and they fall and run??

I think I trust a glass and a sheet of card more. At least you can make sure they're outside before they run!! ;)

That is a worry of mine too - hence, Mr EL will be using the gizmo until we are sure they don't fall off!

The one this morning was scary enough - I would have given him the wardrobe had he not scuttled away from it! Then, he hid between the carpet edge and the skirting in the hall, quiet as anything - wouldn't even MOVE when I smacked the wall near him! I wasn't even sure it was a spider anymore! I then had the ingenious idea of spraying him with some water and I saw a leg move - then I carried on spraying and he scuttled about enough for me to fling the supperware pot onto him. Had he just been hiding there in plain sight, I swear I wouldn't have known it was a spider as he was so balled up and still... yuk!

Ugh, horrible and scary way to wake up!

Mmmm - good but not wide enough - the one this morning would have laughed at my feeble attempt!

  • Bought one of these last week and it has arrived just in time. The beasts are on the attack, bigger and faster than last year.

It's been in use every day - but I can't say about small spiders. If we get any of those, the cats must be getting to them first.

I'd do anything to prevent them getting in rather than dealing with them. Might try the citronella around the open window frames.

on a similar note, we are getting loads of "daddy-long-legs"s, does anyone know:
a/ how to keep them away?
b/ which particular plants they like so we can monitor it?

Well let us know how well it works when you get it and Mr EL has tried it!!

If it seems convincing I might get one for the hubby, although he is likely to hold it out towards me and say "look it does hold them quite well"
