Mine loves the box her pampers nappies came in. I cut a hole in the side and now it's her helmet.
Cheapest present ever! What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Nintendo DS! Not particularly cheap but a godsend for those moments when you want your children to behave! And they would play with it day and night if I let them!
Other than that I find it's the cheapest tat that seems to go down best. Last christmas they had plenty of more expensive gifts, but it was the 99p pot of fart putty that I got them each that got played with much more than anything else!
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -

outgrown it now but loved it for months!0 -
My son is 18 now and hopefully about to go to university, but he loved his Brio train set and used it all the time. When he outgrew it, I donated it to the after school club where as far as I know, they're still using it.
He also loved his Playmobil castle and pirate ship. They're still in the loft looking for a good home."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
I'm hoping the V-tech baby walker proves as good an investment for us - littl'un has got one for his birthday on Thursday

Brio and Lego.
Lego is so timeless that OH and I can spend ages playing with it and the children, and when we have kids over and the Lego comes out the parents play just as much as the children!
DD had Brio from about 3 years old, she started off playing with tracks OH and I had built before building her own; now (6) she likes the challenge of building ever more complex ones with sidings and turntables.
DS (just 3) loves playing with the battery- operated engines and longer and longer trains but is not too good at actually joining tracks yet.
It's one of the toys I'm saving for the grandchildren...They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Brio and Lego - usually mixed together with Brio track and station items and a Lego buildings and cars.
My husband boarded out the loft so the boys could make huge layouts up there. My 11 year old still plays up there with it and occasionally my 13 year old joins in.
Play food and kitchenware items. You can't beat moments when you have to pretend to enjoy some invisible coffee, with a plastic carrot and a fried egg, or other such yummy meals
Here I go again on my own....0
