What is the toy your child has that has proved best value for money

Has your child a toy that they have played with over and over again that was well worth its initial price that you would recommend to other parents?
Mine is the V-tech baby walker which my son had at 6 months and still using it now at just over 3 years albeit now he uses it to mow the grass :rotfl:
For the initial £20 or so it has been excellent value for money :T

Duplo, including the train track. The set we have is 30 years old, is on its 4th child and looks as good as new, with the exception of a couple of pieces being a bit sunbleached. My son uses it every day, it encourages manual dexterity, problem solving and imagination, and best of all, he really really loves it.
We inherited the set we have, but I would buy it in an instant if we hadn't.0 -
With our current foster children I'd say it's the Litttle Tikes kitchen we got secondhand and an ELC sand and water table. Our own 3 amassed a vast Duplo collection - as Chakani says it's really versatile: Ours got used for building, sorting colours/shapes/sizes, counting and served up as food amongst other things!
Worst value I'd say were the V Tech computers: Once they were capable of playing the games and activities on them (rather than just pushing buttons) they preferred the proper computer.0 -
We have the v tech walker but they haven't played with it a lot, it's been one of the their least played with toys tbh. Luckily I only paid about £1.50 for it in a charity shop. I was going to get rid of it but dd2 has started playing with it again recently so might keep it for a bit longer.
Would agree with the duple, they never get tired of it.
Stacking cups have got a lot of use over the years.
Tea set and play food is played with nearly every day in our house.
Ride on cars, balls, sand pit and water table have been well used.0 -

Brio- my set was from when my brother was little (he's now 23). It's been through tons of foster kids & grandchildren and my mum gave it to me for my first daughter.
I keep on topping it up with stuff found around the bootfare."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0 -

My two still love Fisher price Little people Zoo.
It was bought for my daughter when she was 18months old and at 4 she still plays as does her brother of 2yrs.
They both love tea sets, play food and stacking cups they dont seem to play with much else at all.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j
