I'd like to think i can help...
how do you transfer your pics to your computer (and what format are they?)? opening the image in photoshop shouldnt be a problem, and then printing should also be easy, where exactly is your problem?0 -
I doubt there are many graphics packages which can read and write direct to a memory card in a video camera.
But yes download to PC first"See you on the Other Side"0 -
Choose File > Import, and select your digital camera from the submenu.
Then just print itHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Hi,
I think following might help you.
1. Check if your camera is attached with your PC.
2. Your camera should be on and in a mode which allowes it to connect to PC (Some cameras have default USB mode set to printer you have to change it then)
3. If your computer has recognised a new device then let it install either by using internal drivers or if you have a CD then go for installation first.
4. If a USB device is appearing as a disk drive then you have to browse and copy required pictures from it to a folder that is accessable by Photoshop CS. You can also open CS and browse to the attached USB camera disk and then open required file.
Sometimes the card you are trying to copy from might be write protected then it will not allow you to move pictures and only allow you to copy them. So you cannot delete or add pictures if it is write protected. Try copying pictures (Uncheck the option that says delete from the device after copy or after operation has completed something like this...)
Another issue can be the camera is in webcam mode and some cameras use internal PC hard disk as a storage device during webcam mode and you will not be able to access the camera memory during webcam mode.
Check the manual to see which mode the camera is in by default and change it to the one that make sense for computer.
Hope this will help you.0 -
I am trying to shoot from a Canon 5D through laptop to a Mitsubishi 9550 DyeSub printer.
I am using a programme called DSLR Remote pro from.....(http://www.breezesys.com/)
This downloads the picture when the pic is taken and opens it in CS (or your chosen editing prog). So far so good.
All I then need to do is tell CS to print at 8x6 on the printer.
I was told that I should be set up an action to do this with one key, ie F2 for a pic taken in portrait and F9 for one taken in landscape.
If I could get an action to work, I might want to add some more steps perhaps sharpening, but for now, all I want CS to do is print as quickly as possible.
This is the only way I could get it to work, and then only at 9x6, the printer prints both and I really wanted 8x6 with no border.
Each pic arrived via DSLR Remote in CS without problem. I then had to go to File>Print with preview This always showed the scale as 100% and the preview was zoomed into the middle of the pic. I had to keep changing the % to 28%. I then had to go through another half a dozen clicks, including going into the printer properties to change orientation, surely there must be an easier way??? I wanted to print at 8x6, ticking the `Scale to fit media` box and changing to inches didn`t work either, wouldn`t accept 8x6, closest I got was in portrait printing just less then 6" with a white border down both sides. What I thought I could do was see pic on screen, check Ok, press F2 for Portrait and F9 for landscape, not to be. Even if I can`t do that, can I improve on the above laborious workflow??? Any ideas, suggestions, advice welcome.
The Mitsubishi is set as the default printer.
Thanks in advance. Steve0 -

If you click on Help, How to Customise and Automate, Automate a Task, you will get instructions telling you how to create new actions.

Thanks espresso,
If i could get it to do what I want manually, creating the action should be easy, unfortunately, I can`t get it to do what it is supposed to except for following the actions outlined. There has to be an easier way with or without an action..... I hope.
Thanks again.0 -
An action is simply a recoding of the steps that you want to perform.
Basically you open or import an image.
Click on the Actions tab or Windows, Actions
Click create new and give this new action a name and assign a Function key.
Then just click on record and do choose the commands and perform the operations that you want included in the action. i.e. Image resize, print etc.
Click on the stop button to finish the recording of your action.
Then when the function key is pressed it will perform the commands recorded in the action. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Yes, I appreciate that but I can`t get it to print 6x8 doing it manually. The printer can print 6x8 or 6x9 on the same media.
In the printer menu I can choose 6x8 but the closest I can get in CS is 5.332 x 8 with a white border down each edge.
When I see a picture in CS (landscape) I go to File>Print with preview
I see the pic in the small preview window zoomed into the centre of the pic.
Scaled print size shows 100%
If I tick the `Scale to fit media` box, I can now see all the pic in the preview window window but with a white border top and bottom. That will print OK, but with the white border.
If I don`t click `Scale to fit media` and instead change the 100% to say 28% I can fill the preview box with most of the pic. The % figure changes though with each picture so could not be included in an action.
Now if the previous picture I printed was in Portrait and the next taken in landscape I have to go into the printer settings to change this too.
MMmmmmmmmm Perhaps it`s just me..
can CS print 8x6, anyone know ????0 -
maybe the 4:3 ratio is not there in your photos, so when it scales to fit media, it fits the 8in bit, but there are not enough pixels to fit the 6in bit?
Like how some photo companies allow a print of 4x5.something which they call "true digital ratio" while 4x6 involves them cutting off a bit of your length to fit the 4x6 paper.
The Canon 5D has a max resolution of 4368x2912
4368/546 gives 8(inches)
2912/546 gives 5.33(inches)
hence u need to crop bits from the length and width to make the correct 8x6 ratio
3880x2910 would be print out on 8x6 media with no white gaps0
