Oh guys, whinge time. My jaw is still killing me after the dentist last week. I am in pain every day because of this! I've tried to get an appointment at the dentist, but they can only offer me mid day appointments which when I work over an hour from home are totally impractical.

I'm fairly certain there has been some nerve damage, which is causing me to have lock jaw type symptoms, stinging pain in my jaw, ear, gums and as a result an awful lot of headaches.

I don't know what to do right now as I can't get an appointment for weeks right now. Wahhh :silenced:

I really feel for you. It's awful dealing with that much pain and not knowing where to turn.

I'm different to you in that I'd have just taken their first availability, no matter on time or distance. This is because I couldn't function at work without getting it fixed.

Your health and wellbeing is too important to wait! In my opinion.

I hope you feel better soon.

    Thanks Tops.
I unfortunately don't have overly understanding employers.. and they will not be willing to let me take 3 hours off work on a Friday- plus it would cost me a fortune in petrol because work would expect me to come back after.

I start work at 8:00- so that's an hour travelling to work.
Leave by 11:30 to make 12:30 dentist appointment. Leave dentist and home town by 1:00- be back by 2:00... finish work at 3:30 on a Friday.
So not worth my effort- if only work would say not to worry about coming back. That's 100 miles in a day just for the dentist. Not MSE!

I'm popping pain pills until I can figure something out!

Oh sunshine! Spring is here Tops! You're little Spring man on your thread is awesome!

Oh dear. Sorry. It goes way beyond impractical, doesn't it?

I hope you figure out a solution soon as I hate the thought of anyone going through that sort of pain for any longer than absolutely necessary.

    Make an appointment for Fri.

Phone in sick. Say you think you took an overdose of painkillers and are too spaced out to drive.

Back to work Monday, fixed, with emergency Sat am appointment at dental clinic that cost you a fortune ;).

    If they won't play fair.......
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Awesome plan GG, but I don't get sick pay unless I'm off for over 3 days- and you dont get paid the first 3 days either way! Oh and if you take time off sick, they deduct it from your bonus entitlement at the end of the year!:o

    Lord... give me strength!

We've been keeping an eye on the budget announcements, all of which are suprisingly less painful than I was expecting. Especially pleased about the increased tax free earnings! The amount my DOH and I should be "not paying in tax" as of April is actually more than my payrise this year. Thanks Mr Chancellor.

But inevitably this starts my poor, hard done by colleague off about how much she struggles and can't get help from the government to pay for childcare other than the vouchers... and

well I stopped listening... but I gather her life sucks.

Do love one of my other colleagues for pointing out that it is a choice to have kids, and people really should make sure they can afford to have a child before doing so (provided it's a choice thing)

    :rotfl:

What's everyone else's thoughts on the budget?

I thought the increase in tax free earnings starts in 2014?

There is the next one in 2014 where it goes up to £10k... but its increasing again as of 6th April this year... apparently. I saw a thing somewhere but now I can't find it again.
Either way it's good now, or in a years time
