Hi determined
Was it you who did the weekend thread and we were talking about your very impressive £60 a week for family of four? If so I wanted to ask you whether you have a slow cooker and if you find it useful? I have a friend at work who swears by hers but I am v nervous of buying more gadgets - already have a popcorn making machine and a deep fat fryer that I have used all of once each. They were both presents!!

Jo's not online now but I'm sure she won't mind me answering. (She answers enough of mine
)
She spoke to the TC people and they are adamant it's not an overpayment. At that point she asked if the phone calls get recorded as she'd then have proof that she was told to spend it!
Lucky girl paid off a few debts with the money :T

hi sj, yes it was me. Erm I do have a slow cooker (which I asked for as a xmas present a few years ago. To be fair I don't use it an awful lot, mainly because I cba with sorting it all out in the morning (and I'm really neurotic about putting things on over night
ever since going on the fire warden training through work :eek:). I do know ppl who swear by them tho, and I do use it when I'm doing a ham hock or wanting an easy meal at the weekend. What I want is a ramoska...(off she poodles to dream away...)stitching_witch wrote: »Jo's not online now but I'm sure she won't mind me answering. (She answers enough of mine

Ah the swedish cooking sensation - I keep seeing that on lakeland but it looks like camping gear and that has always put me off a bit. I am sure I would give the entire family food poisoning if I used one of those. I leave early for work - 7am so not sure I would be able to fit in before work either, hmmm may go through my recipe books instead, there was a great Jamie O aubergine pasta which was basically aubergine, tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinegar, pasta and mozzarella - v cheap and v tasty. Off to find that!

Today I
- went back to work after two weeks hols:(
- finished the ironing
- going to go through my books and list on Amazon market place - job for tomorrow
- find out about umbrella companies, I am a temp and have been told today that I could reclaim 40p a mile (I travel 88 miles a day) and £7.50 per day for lunch if I sign up to one of these. Bit nervous about it - need to find out more but have worked out it would save me quite a lot of money £1,500 in 6 months.....0
