As per the title, this phone will not down load any apps at all. It says it's downloading, but it just freezes.

I've tried:
signing in & out of my googlemail a/c
using wi-fi & tmobile connection
Asking son who works at CPW to have a try
phoning tech support at tmobile who suggested factory reset, that didn't work. They don't have any suport manuals etc yet as it's still new.

Tech support also told me that it will have to go in for repair if a local branch can't sort it. This phone is 4 days old, surely a new one should be supplied?

The bloke even advised cancelling the contract under the 7 day cooling off period.

Does anyone have any advice please? Cancelling is looking favourite at the moment, I HATE this phone

I love mine! Not had any probs with apps downloading though I have noticed that mine wont install if the battery is low, have you tried to download the apps when the phone is plugged into the wall?

Sounds like you may not have the data account set up correctly .

Give it a full charge and also check for any OTA Android updates (Menu>Settings>About Phone>System Software Updates ...probably, cos they keep moving where that actually is!!)

have you used any task killers. is google 'talk' working on your phone, you need 'talk' app working on your phone for the 'market' to work. on your phone, open the 'apps / all programs folder' it is the small inverted triangle at the bottom left of your screen, scroll down to bottom, then open the talk app. if you have a proper google/gmail account then this should open and work if your talk account with google is working properly. then stuff should download properly. you can download tilll the internal memory is about 15mb full on froyo and till about 4mb full on 2.1 android. i dont know if you have 2.2 or 2.1 android.

also your data connection on 3g or wifi needs to be working for you to access the internet to be able to access the market. i am surprised tech support and your son couldnt sort this out. you need to be signed into your gooogle account on your phone.

if this does not work then time to return the phone within the return period as it is not working properly or you dont know to set it up properly and tech team havent been able to help you. no point keeping a phone that you cant use some of the features that you need. try what i suggested but 7 days is a lot and if it doesnt work within that then time to return. but try what i suggested first.

There seems to be an issue with Android market at the moment. On Saturday an app took over two hours to download and another I ended up leaving downloading overnight. Yesterday another took over eight hours. Normally they download in a few minutes.

yes i was facing some problems the last couple of days too intermittently. i assumed it was my phone as always i have low memory alerts as i pack my phone with apps, usually trying newer apps and deleting others to make space.

but yesterday i installed the widget bar for 'quick systems info pro app' . i had installed the app a few weeks ago. the widget bar has three functions, one launches the info screen of the app, the other is atask killer and the last is a cache cleaner. i hit the cache cleaner and instantly 4 of my apps that had been hanging for a day started updating instantly. i do not know if it was a coincidence or the cache clean sorted the problem. my internal memory was still low but all my apps updated instantly in less than a minute.

probably worth a try if other things dont work. if this works for others then please let me know so that i dont uninstall the app later and will keep it for future use.

ps: jo jo .... did your phone work later in accessing apps from the market or did you return the phone???

Bubbles, I took the phone into a local store on Tues pm & they said it's deffo faulty. Still in dialogue with TMobile trying to arrange a replacement. They've told me that they're not expecting any more in stock at all!

They offered me a Samsung Wave at the same cost & I'm literally sitting here waiting for the phone to ring to arrange something, I really don't want the Wildfire now as I hate texting on it anyway!
