My partner of 12 years left last week to move in the next day with some other woman and her kids.
He cancelled all the bills as I have been finding out, so today I phone virgin and they say he has cancelled the direct debit which is due on the 22nd August.
I am now wondering what to do as I dont want the services cut off as it will affect our young daughter. But also as of yet I don't know how much spare money I will have a month as I work part time and have only just phoned tax credits etc.. I am not sure how much money I will have to put towards it.
Does anyone know how long it will be before it gets cut off??? so I can arrange something else
We currently have home phone, internet and TV package. The internet and phone is past the year contract but the TV still has 7 months left before cancellation.
I am happy to give up the home phone but I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on any cheaper alternatives for tv/ internet as with sorting out all the other problems he has caused trying to sort out this aswell is just getting on top of me so would be grateful for advice, thanks!

I wouldn't wait for the DD to bounce and for your service to be cut off, you need to telephone and explain the situation and attempt to arrange for services to be dropped to the most basic level and £, and to arrange an alternate payment method, especially if the service is in your/joint name, if it is in his name then make sure they get his new address so they chase the right person.
Once you start on this downward spiral of service arrears and debt chasing it will be much harder too fight back to the top when things turn around.
Oh and I'm sure you have got some legal advice ?0 -
Thanks for replies.
All Bills were in his name so that's not a problem, when I find out where he lives they will be forwarded to him for him to deal with.
My daughter age 10 started to use pc last year for school work so will ideally need the internet.
I'm just not sure if I should set up a seperate internet connection with a different company if that would be cheaper or to see if I can come up with something with Virgin.
I would have liked to use freeview but as no ariel connection I can't do that and dont have the funds to set that up
Just having to sort things out and having no idea where to begin, I think I wll call virgin again to see what they say.0 -

But any VM TV service is going to cost you more in the first year than the one off cost of an aerial!
And VM's telephony is the most expensive around. No free lunch, and no free laptop
