Another fan here! OH doesnt really do much cooking, but that has changed since the arrival of the book!

So far, we have made the basic curry sauce, chicken/lamb tikka which we served with lamb tikka dansak sauce, pilau rice and veg pakora. Then we used the leftover chicken/lamb tikka and served them in pittas with the kebab shop salad and sauces. They were AMAZING!

Tonight we are having the lamb donner and I am swithering between szechuan chicken or shredded crispy chicken for tomorrow. I'm going to the Asian/Chinese shops today to stock up on my spices. Our Tesco doesnt do the value mince lamb, so will compare prices in the Asian shop.

    Thanks OP for sharing :)

Earlier in this thread I had posted to say I felt that many of the receipies had too strong a garlic taste. On Monday i made the Doner again but put in half the garlic powder and it is so much better, in fact we all loved it when we had it yesterday.

Has anyone else noticed that the italian pizza sauce is just like the sauce used in Prezzo, in particular the one for the Tiger Prawn starter which I love. Next time i make it i will have a go at adding chillies and prawns and see if it compares. (Was going to have a go the other day but the left over sauce ended up over me, my son and the floor instead :o think i may need to change my user name to clumsy_lil :rotfl:)

I guess vegetarians must be smaller than meat eaters if you can fit a whole one inside a pizza crust.

Has anyone tried the milkshake? Ooh yum! 7oz of ice-cream looks such a lot. Not so much when it's been liquidised down. :o But it's very filling and takes a while to drink. Couldn't have one every day though. I'd be huuuuge! Well, bigger than I am already. :p
  • Thank you to the OP for bringing this book to my attention and to everyone else for commenting on the recipes inside it. I have since bought the book and tried a few recipes which have all been nice. I also bought the book for my nephew. I hope the OP is on commission!

I don't know if anyone has already posted this - apologies if it has.

It's pictures sent to Kenny, of food that they've made using his recipes.

  • OH made the doner kebab tonight. It was fab! Last week, we had szechuan chicken and beef chow mein. I thought the beef was slightly too salty for me, so would maybe cut down on the soy sauce next time. The beef itself was just lovely, so tender. We loved the szechuan chicken. Might make that again tomorrow night.

Has anyone got the recipe for salt and pepper chips they make at the chip shop?

This bank holiday has been a homemade takeaway day first we had the donner kebab which was delish and probably a lot more heathier than the takeaway version. Then we had the nata's like the one's you get in Nando's. The meal was a success and loved by everyone :D

I read the first few pages and the last and have now ordered the book :) So many pages you can't all be wrong - either that or Kenny has a large family posting :)
