Football Text Alerts

I used to receive text alerts for my permier league team from Orange. Orange are no longer providing this service. The service cost £2.50 per month (subscription) and the standard rate for each text (if you got a text bundle e.g. unlimited you would only pay the subscription).

At the end of the last football season i noticed that i wasn't getting these texts so contacted Orange. They had stopped providing the service and said that there were plenty of other companies out there doing the same thing.

I have found numerous but they all seem to charge about 25p per text. The number of texts can get silly as some will send; Team News before kick off, all goals scored, penalties missed, half time score, full time score, red cards, transfer news, major club news (e.g. sale of club, manager sacked, in administration), every step of a players transfer etc. etc. i'm sure there are more.

At 25p per text there is going to be a lot of 25p's on the phone bill.

I wondered if anyone knew if there were any companies that worked the way Orange used to?

What sort of phone do you have? If you have a smart phone, there's free apps out there that are better than any text service. I use FotMob4.0

I have a htc touch HD. The app shop never seems to have much in there. I will have a look though, thanks.

I've just google'd it and it looks like its an android app.

I run Windows Mobils 6.1 but thanks anyway.

You have internet on your phone, just use https://www.livescore.com has all the scores.
