Hi, i've just started selling on ebay.
I've read all the info about selling on ebay and looked on this forum as well. I must admit though its all very confusing.
On 1 of my items i have put £3 for p&p recorded delivery. Im now thinking that maybe i should have put special delivery as the item is now selling for £60. Should i now change my p&p costs?
As for the whole paypal thing-well im totally lost on that.
Im beginning to wish i'd never bothered because i dont think im cut out for this selling lark. Everytime i log onto ebay i feel sick thinking im gonna screw up on this selling malarky. Does it get easier

Don't change your postage costs, as thriftymanc says you can just use the extra that it's going for to pay for the upgrade to special. (and yes you should send special
)
If you wanted to, and it's got more than 12 hours to go, you could add a little note to the bottom of your listing saying that it will be sent special because of the price but if you do make sure you put that it won't cost the buyer any extra.
That's just so that the buyers know where they stand, but since it needed a signature anyway you should be fine.
And don't worry- most sales go off without any trouble. You hear about the awful ones, but there is a ton of nice ones that never get mentioned. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. Thanks guys, the item has 7hrs left in the auction so I'll send it by special delivery just to be safe.
One last quick question, this paypal-do they send u an email once the buyer has paid. Also, do i have to provide my bank details to paypal to access this money. I have a paypal account but its unverified!! I cant believe something so simple is causing me so much confusion!! Im actually a bright and intelligent girl usually-honestly

It will be much simpler to start the verification process on your paypal account as soon as you can, you'll have to do it eventually so get it out the wya now.
Also make sure you have a premier account so that card payments are automatically accepted, if you sell on a basic account the first 2 card payments will be fine but the third will show as unclaiemd until you upgrade, and that just starts to get complicated.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You need to add bank details yes, unless you want to spend it back on ebay or other websites that take paypal.
But it's been a while since I had a new account, they might have added a card crediting option or something (I don't think so though).
It takes a few days to set up the bank funding, but they talk you through it on the site. This is my opinion. Hi OP and in answer to your question yes it does get easier.
Also remember when reading forums like this one most people post because something has gone wrong with someting they have bought or they have a problem buyer rarely will they comment on the 10000+ sales they have had that went smoothly and they recived glowing positive feedback for so never let a forum like this one put you off having a go.
If I can sell on ebay anybody can and good luck with your new ebay venture.0 -

Just gotta watch out for all the numpties who are way to thick to understand that you are supposed to leave feedback, sellers like to receive f/b, it lets us know how well the buyer thought the transaction went.
I have just re-emailed 8 buyers to remind them to leave feedback. Unlike Ebid, Ebay doesn't send auto-reminder emails to non-fb leavers.Never Knowingly Understood.

You are likely to get negative feedback, as it is very annoying to be pestered for it.
People have their reasons for not leaving- usually when I do it's because I don't want to get into an argument because it would have to be neutral.
Feedback is entirely voluntary and no-one is "supposed" to do anything of the sort.
Especially since ebay has started sending out reminders for you which you can't turn off. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I wouldn't ever ask anyone to leave feedback. As a seller, I leave feedback when I get payment & I get seriously mighty hugely irrationally pd off when a seller expects me as the buyer to leave fb for them before they leave it for me, I ignore all requests. If they email saying that I need to leave feedback so that they know it's arrived, I will sometimes, respond by message saying that I have it.0
