am i being scammed?

I recently sent 2x phones off to Mazuma mobile.

both were iphone 3g S 16gb phones that i had purchased seperately 2nd hand from Ebay.

when i went to mazuma's website and entered the imei numbers they were both recognised as 3G S 16gb. I was happy with the price offered and so sent them off etc etc.

today i get an email from them stating that one of the handsets was not a 3G S but the older 3G version (none S) and so they revised the offer by £50 lower.

now this is all very odd, so i called mazuma and they insisted that their imei database can have errors - fair enough, but now i dont know if the phone was miss-sold me or mazuma is trying it on? i have insisted they return both phones to me so i can verify - any idea's on how i do this? are there any alternative imei databases that are free to use?

If you remember these details, you can probably sort out the matter over the phone with mazuma.
  • unfortunately i cant be sure, i purchased the 2nd phone when i damaged the first one and needed to send it away for repair so used both quite frequently.

i just found an online imei database and thats stating the imei number could be a 3g or a 3gs lol no help, i need to get it back and verify which of the 2 phones it was so i can persue the seller i think.
  • Mazuma just called back - on a more in depth inspection they agree that both handsets are in fact 3Gs.

fair play to them, the guy i spoke with earlier didnt have an easy time of it as i wanted him to return both handsets to me so i could verify where the error had been made, according to the T&C;s there is a charge for the return of the phone they accepted as a 3Gs originaly - i wasnt happy to accept this and felt both phones should be returned to me. I stood my ground and they agreed in the end to return them both. After the call the guy i had spoken too has inspected the phone;s personaly and agrees that mazuma had made an error. this was based on one of the phones having a 3g back cover (remember i said one went away for repair?).

anyhow they called me back and sorted it all out,.
