Our hospital don't require appointments for this. You just turn up Sat/Sun at 4pm. We're probably going to go a week sunday. It might seem early but I want to see the hospital asap so I can make my mind up about a hospital birth.

So when have you booked yours for?

They're all in November and December. I'd like to go earlier but that's what she gave me, it's fine really as I'm pretty sure I want a hospital birth.

Lilian - glad you have booked your tour ok, my midwife said she would book mine, didnt do it, and i now have a tour booked for 2 days after my due date - which i wont be going to even if bubs isnt here!!

Gena - Thanks for the info, mine is v.wriggley too, i thought it was doing somersaults but has been head down the last 3 times, so im guessing its staying head down and just flipping from right to left side.

Sorry to hear so many people are having SPD problems, i can totally sympathise and have finally realised im really not capable of doing alot now. Just the trip to the doctors this morning (being driven there, and just going in and out on my crutches) has caused me so much pain i can hardly move my legs this afternoon. Lots of rest is the only answer!! x

Sorry to hear that :( This is what is now making me wonder if perhaps I don't have it - as it seems to be that when I rest it gets worse!

When i first had it between 23 and 30ish weeks i needed to keep moving as much as possible and the longer i sat still in the same position the worse it was when i moved, but that was quite a short pain that just lasted 10/15 mins, and moving eased it.

From about 30 weeks I i found it is still like that in some ways, but doing too much and walking around gives my pain that is worse and last longer, like a day or more, and makes me very stiff and unsteady on my feet. So it may still be SPD just at the early stages???

Oh that's interesting - ok thanks. I'll be keeping an eye on it cause it's been going on for over 2 weeks now.

At first my doctor sent me away a few times, but in the end my doctor and Midwife agreed it was SPD and refered me to the Physio. The Physio wasnt great the first time i went.... but in the end when i could hardly walk my doctor sent me back to the Physio and i saw a different one and she was much better. So keep going back if it gets worse. My doctor actually said that they tend not to do anything about it in the begining and hope it will go away or not get worse, which in many cases it will. But if it carry's on then they refer you to the Physio.

The problem is there is no magic answer, my support belt helped until i was about 30 weeks and then made it more painful. The exercises the physio gives you can help, and the crutches can help but its just trying to work out what causes you pain, and stop doing it - which is easier said than done. Hope it gets better for you Lilian, it will all be worth it for the beautiful baby you will have in the end though!! xx

    Hi all,

Back from the midwives and she was concerned about the itching on my back and arms and did a blood test, I get my results tomorrow. really hoping that its ok and not a fatty liver. Im sure it will be fine but better to be safe.

I really need to get my bum in gear and get the last few bits that I need for our new arrival now as the expected date is creeping up so quickly. Need to get the lads sport kit for school too but really cant be bothered going out in this pregnancy.

Yep - I believe you get the form at your 25 week MW appointment so make sure you ask if it's not offered!

There is one other doctor there so if I'm in pain all this week again I'll make another appointment and see her.
I only got the form a couple of weeks ago as she kept not having any with her but got the money in just over a week (despite the form getting drenched when my water bottle leaked!) :rotfl:

lilian - i'd say the main thing is you have got the physio referral, Dr won't be able to do much to be honest.

Gems that sounds awful, mine is not quite so bad at least!

I find the belt helps walking a bit but I can't sit in it so end up having to take it off as soon as I've walked, when I need to sit down. So all in all not v useful, as, say, i put it on this am to go to the station, walked to bus stop and got straight on bus, sat uncomfortably in it for 3 min bus ride, got off bus and walked onto station platform...then had to take it off in public so I could sit down! Then when I changed trains I couldn't put it back on, thankfully there are lifts to change trains..then was wait at bus stop but there is a seat, then when I finally got off the bus near work I had to stand in the street and put it on so i could make it into the office 3 mins away.

Gosh, no wonder I'm tired...sounds like an epic journey!

Hello ladies... Yes unfort I'm stil here :( having bit of a panic, realised I hadn't felt baby move barely at all when we went to bed last night. OH normally gets him/ her kicking like hell but no luck. I went to sleep and hoped I would get woken by kicks; nothing. Have been trying eating/ drinking cold stuff, had a couple of small movements but not much. Had a bath and had couple of movements but again nothing like normal.

Phoned the MW and I gota go to be monitored later, can't fit me in until 6pm! So I'm just sat here worried to death :( OH reckons I might get booked in for a C section, I just hope they do something as I'm quite worried :(
