I have got myself into a real state.
I have racked up debts and got into arrears. I have contacted CCCS and have an interview on Thursday morning.
I really only have the option of DMP as i am a rep i have a company credit card for which expenses are paid and an IVA would cause an issue here.
Also part of my income comes from mileage as i am opted out of the car scheme at work and this amount is paid each month into my bank along with the money to pay the company credit card.
my debts are £24k and rising due to arrears. I have even started unplugging the phone at home and scan my mobile calls and just don't answer.
I have had my LBM and know i need to deal with this instead of taking tablets to sleep at night and i know it will take me a long time to get straight.
Thats it i have done it instead of lurking around on here looking at people beating their debts i can be a beater with time.

take heart
You have already done the right thing and have the appointment on thurs. They will give you a plan to get you straight, in time. When you are taking action you will start to feel better. Creditors will stand in a queue if they see you are determined to pay them off eventually. Good Luck.

Hi there....just wanted to say hi
I too had my lightbulb moment last year with 85k of debt and its a long struggle but well worth it ....im on a DMP with Payplan and will be paying it for 15 years unless i can up the payment
If you decide to do a DMP you will need to change your bank account and make sure you tell them about your company credit card> I too have one but dont use it very often and i asked Payplan about this and they said it was fine as i wasnt resposible for the bill
Sorry if this doesnt help you very much but just keep ya chin up and im sure you will feel much better when on the plan..
PS . i have permanatly unplugged my house phone and dont answer any calls from any number i dont recognise ...all correspondence is done in writing

Do i have to change banks if no debt with them?
Thank you for your replies i hope i can do DMP just may take a long time. I am due a bonus in October so that may help pay off the little debts in F&F. Fingers crossed i hit my budget for this qtr :cool:0 -
Hi OS, welcome to the boards. The reason people say change banks is to stop creditors "grabbing" the money if they don't agree to your reduced payments. If you do a SOA and post it up, there are many on here who can help you cut down on your "day to day" living expenses. Also when you do your DMP make it realistic, it's no use putting a figure down, then realising a few months down the line that you cannot afford it!! But CCCA will go all through this with you. Here's the link for the SOA Good luck!

Hi - have you done the CCCS debt remedy? you input all your figures online and it gives you an idea of what it recommends for your circumstances? It might be worth doing to get all your figures in order - ie what your rent/mortgage is, how much you spend on food etc before you have the chat with CCCS and based on what the computer recommends you can discuss it further with the adviser.
Another useful thing to do is to do a spending diary - it's amazing how much disappears without you realising it.
Good Luck

Just had a home visit from Power2Contact on behalf of the Halifax.
I am shaking like a leaf.
She put me on the phone to a guy who said he needs a letter of authority from CCCS regarding my affairs.
He has suspended my account for 10 days and then further recovery action will be taken.
What the hell have i done:(0 -

hi
I agree fully with everything people say on here but especially about the spending diary. I realised about 2 weeks ago my situation was unmanageable and thats an understatement. Now I have agreed a propsed DMP with Pay Plan however i started a spending diary. Even though i am trying to be good i am still overspending drastically but small steps will help hopefully and whilst it will be a long journey it is one i am determind to succeed in!!
good luck and remember we are all in this together0
