Washing product query

It's been a while since I last posted anything on this forum. Currently having problems with my computer resulting in me needing to spend almost £500 on a new machine. That's another story.
Just last saturday whilst doing my shopping I noticed a new washing product on the bottom shelf in Tesco. There's the usual liquids, gels tabs, powders etc. This product that I saw is old, but hasn't been sold in our tesco store in years. It's those powder wash tabs. You know the ones, where powder is compressed into a solid tab. Just like Calgon etc. I know that the usual routine to find the bargains is not to look at eye level, but rather tucked away on the top or bottom shelves.
I'm thinking I should switch to these when the time comes, presuming they've not been brought back as a limited time thingy.0 -

Can you substantiate this?0
