Hello,
I want to park at Heathrow for 3/4 weeks over Sep/Oct. Can anyone please recommend. I have looked and found several but would prefer personal experience, read so many horror stories.

Purple parking are very good.
Security is absolutely excellent (big compound, barbed wire, compound, CCTV focused on number plates on entry/exit) and their prices are very good.
The journey can be variable.
It can take between 12 and 45 minutes (that's my actual personal experience). It's usually towards the lower end and the 45 mins was really unlucky and bad traffic.
They drop off at all terminals so it's obviously quicker it you are 1st drop off and longer if you are 3rd and 4th.
You tend to have to wait sometimes for the buses, but if security, value for money and price are important then I would go for it.
I've used pink elephant for business and they are much quicker, but it's something like £22 per day rather than £6 with purple parking.
If you are prepared to pay a little more, then purple parking do meet and greet so you don't have the journey, but bear in mind someone else will be driving your car.
I'm ok with that but some people (like my husband) are ultra fussy about that.
So all in all, great price, great security but a little bit of a longer journey than others due to location.0 -
A lot of the time, I am told it can be MUCH cheaper to use an airport hotel the night before you fly, and they allow you to then leave the car at the hotel whilst you are away.
Not sure on maximum stays though.0 -

Not sure on maximum stays though.
Maximum stay is usually 15 days free (well included) then the hotel's normal (often high) rates after that
And there's only a few hotels offering these packages where you leave the car at the hotel - the norm is they give you a voucher for Purple Parking or similar.
Quality Parking are quite good - rates similar to Purple and a bit nearer the terminals.
TBH the horror stories relate to valet parking and the less scrupulous operators in particular. If they are vague about where the car is to be parked - avoid.0 -
We've used Purple Parking the last 2 years, and have had no issues. We even gave them a call the one time when we got stuck in traffic on the way to the airport and arranged for them to meet us at the terminal so that we would make our flight. And the last time, we were stuck abroad longer due to the Volcano, and were not charged for the extra 5 days stay.
Generally they come in the cheapest, and I have yet to find fault.0 -
Thank you all for your input :T
I think we may have an evening flight otherwise I would have looked into hotel/park option.

Never had any problems with Purple Parking. Can't find the thread just now, but there's a 50% discount code lurking somewhere in this forum. From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0

Purple Parking certainly looks good, it would look even better if I could find that 50% off voucher:)

If you do decide you use them, don't forget the cashback - they're on quidco, not sure about topcashback.
All I can find on the code front is 5% at the moment.

Or 25% if you're an rac member, although it may well have expired by now.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I always use Purple parking, never had any problems.
Use the code ITT for huge discounts-but if you do you will more than likely not get the Quidco cashback.0
