I have just had an Aarrow 4 Multi installed. We are in a smokeless area, but I have been playing around with logs etc. For winter I want to buy a bunker and smokeless fuel. Coals2u are offering a 500kg bunker with 500kg ecoal, taybrite or homefire fuel for £310. Is this a good price? Which of the fuels is the best for my little stove?
    Thanks

Google (or Bing) is your friend. Shop around for a bunker.

As for fuel, your best bet is to try several small bags of each until you find the one that burns best in your stove in your installation.

In mine (a Hunter Herald 14) Taybrite works as well as anything and seems cost-effective.

But stoves are individuals (part of their charm) so try several fuels till you find the one that works best for you. BTW - do it now, before the inevitable Autumn price rise!
  • It will always depend on where you are going to use it. You have to choose between the amount you will save or the convenience a certain product have. Smokeless coal area is a bit cheaper than LPG-types, however, LPG's is convenient to use than any smokeless-type. If you think you can manage to spend additional amount to LPG then use it. If not, try to get used on smokeless coal fire.
  • Personally i would not use this company at all, although their prices are very cheap i have had very bad customer service with this company. I placed an order of over £100 worth of wildfire coal. I was called to tell me that my delivery would be with me on the Monday possibly Tuesday. So Tuesday evening the delivery had not arrived so i called to find out why. They told me it would definatly be with my on the Wednesday which wasnt a problem. Wednesday evening my delivery had still not arrived, i called again as i had not heard anything from them. They told me that the coal they had loaded onto the lorry was the wrong one and therefore was sent back to the depot and i would not be able to recieve my order until the Friday! This frustrated me as noone had called me to advise of the problem and my house only has the coal fire to heat the house also i have 2 young children. I live in a small village 20 miles away from the local place that sells coal by which time at 5pm was too late to drive that distance to buy any also being 2 days before christmas the fear being that it may not be delivered in time at all. I sent a email complaining of the service and my frustration and in return to my mail they told me that they would not tolerate abuse via email and therefore they suggested i used another supplier! Now thats what i call customer service and keeping your customers happy! After this i cancelled my order and requested a refund, i could not trust them that my delivery would be here and was not happy with the way the whole aspect was treated! So just wanting to warn others that when things go wrong, they just push you away and become rather rude!
  • My experience of fuels4u is the opposite - cheap prices and excellent service. I was out when the coal was delivered, and they neatly piled it all up in a sensible place. No connection, except as a customer.
