have you tried manually checking on the phone for the over the air updates. back up everything first. the update is in 2 phases and it wipes your phone. it was supposed to happen 2 weeks apart in two phases last month. so check manually from home screen, menu > settings > about phone > software update > check now. do it on wifi and make sure phone is plugged into wall power source. thats the instruction for the desire but guess it is similar for the hero.
also see these links http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2010-06/22/htc-hero-android-21-update

dont forget the 25mb free space needed for update.
see some interesting videos on changing the date setting and being able to get both the updates faster!!!!
ps: dont see the sprint videos!!! see the othersbubblesmoney :hello:0 -

cant you click on the software version and see if it gives options or try pressing the menu button after reaching that page. or you could call htc tomorrow, with the number given on their webpage.
see this video, he seems to be pressing the top option on the page before getting the update. see what that does on your phone. see the beginning of the video carefully. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB1dBBu37MUbubblesmoney :hello:0 -
Be careful not to download the wrong version, otherwise you can brick your phone. For technical questions it is worth going on the forums on forum.xda-developers.com.
