Or his maiden (bachelor) name presumably? No? Just don't see why it should be different.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
Mortgages (End 2017) - £180,235.03
(End 2021) - £131,215.25 DID IT!!!
(End 2022) - Target £116,213.810 -
You both sign in your single names...the woman signs the register in her maiden name & the husband signs in his name. You do not sign any 'new' names on the register. So signing the register isn't different for men or women, just the decision bit after.0

We married in Las Vegas and when we got home my Husband sent our marriage certificate off to the passport office, Banks etc and said he would be taking my surname. There was no proble at all and they all chasnged their documents etc. He did not need a deedpoll to do this the marriage certificate was acepted.
When we got married we double barrelled, but basically did the same as above. Just sent our marriage cert off as proof of name change for banks, passport etc. You don't need to use a deedpoll, as the marriage cert is proof of name change.0 -
i dont think there is any problem at all in this!
I know that a woman doesn't have to use the surname of her new husband .
Look at the marriage certificate, it has the bachelors name pre marriage and the spinsters name pre marriage (sorry if you;ve married before with regard to bachelors and spinsters but you get my drift).
Does it say anywhere that miss bloggs is now mrs davis?
it doesnt state anything about change of name....its just the norm (more often than not).
When you inform anyone of a change of name due to marriage, what do they ask for, if anything? marriage certificate.

I have a deed poll template if you want it just message me your e-mail address and I'll send it over saves spending 30 for the same thing online.0

If you're in Scotland it's free to change your name. You can call yourself whatever you like as long as it's not for fraudulent purposes.0
