Claiming back PPI on store card

I forgot to say, my son was sold this store card in Burton's and at the time he was shopping for a prom suit...........how I wish I was with him at the time.........
Mine is with Monsoon, I was planning on just keeping the card but not using it when i've paid it off but that's not an option now as since Santander bought GE Money, Monsoon have decided to withdraw their store cards.0 -
I've just filled in the FOS PPI questionnaire. It doesn't ask anywhere for the figure of how much i think i'm owed back. Do i have to write this information somewhere or does it not matter? Am i meant to leave the figure out of the initial letter and let the company who owe the money work it out themselves plus interest? Thanks

Hi
If you want to give a figure, you can do so by writing an additional letter, but its not essential, as they will also have their own information on the calcs on data, still its good you have them so you can compare them when that time comes.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanks, i've had another read through the questionnaire after reading the help guide and made a couple of changes, it looks like i have several grounds to appeal it so it's looking promising. Just about to print it out so i can pop it in the post tomorrow. Should i put a covering letter in with it? I have a number of addresses for GE Money on my statements, which is the best address to send it to. The guide suggests sending it to the branch where the policy was taken out. But in my case it was opened in a shop (which has actually moved to bigger premises within the city), i'm guessing sending it to the shop would be a bit pointless.
The addresses i have are a PO Box address which is where payments were sent to before it was bought by Santander. The registered address of the company printed in tiny writing at the bottom of old statements. All recent statements have the contact details for Santander on them.

Hiya, we sent to the branch of GE Money.....cannot remember the address, should be on your statements as well.
They didn't turn it away.......with stores I have always been told to contact whoever is on the statement, unlike actually using a broker for bank loan etc.
If you want to do a covering letter, this is optional, if you further information to add, then feel free to write a covering letter.
They have 8 weeks to respond, but I expect you will hear sooner, first with a possible letter to confirm receipt of your complaint and they give you a timescale of when you should hear.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Also i'm assuming that i should send it from a post office and get a certificate of posting so i can prove the date i sent the letter. I found another thread with addresses of all of the banks in it. I've used the address on there for GE Money, but i just wanted to check it was the right one, the post in the thread was written over a year ago - before the Santander take over. Should i still use this address? Will my letter then just be forwarded on to Santander?
I'm unlikely to get a chance to get to a post office tomorrow so it'll probably be Tuesday before i get to send it, until then i'll hang on to it in case i need to send it to a different address.
Many thanks.0 -

Yes post it at your post office/recorded if you can, you can then check the status of the delivery on the Royal mail website "Track and Trace".
That was the address we used on the address thread as well, and they then forward to Santander complaints dept, just like they did with my son's.
I did not write Mr Ruperts Peacocks name though.

Thanks for all of your help!!!
Your very welcome.
Exepect the response to be in a Santander envelope, even though we sent to GE money like all others who had reclaims against these - they will just move this on to the complaints dept at Santander.;)
They are just all in one anyway. So no worries. Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
