If you are a LL, it would probably help if you were able to spell the word tenant. The OP has simply asked a question about her unregistered tenancy deposit. Many might say that it's those LLs who fail to comply with the law who "spoil it for everybody else" .....
  • The central heating drama was settled after we went to the citizens advice bureau and told him to fix in within two weeks and pay some money towards the bills. I admit he did do this, but it took a lot of effort to get the basic heating sorted. He has not made life easy.

So in conclusion, if he gives the deposit back in full, I will not be able to sue?

    Thanks for the support xx

wrusst: If you really are a landlord & not some troll posting to give landlords a bad name could you possibly try & get the spelling and the grammar, please??

Interested in those "High Bonds": More than 2 month's rent??

    Cheers!

    Lodger

PS There's bound to be a spelling or grammar related error in my post....

It’s not a spelling bee my advice is still solid and my many years of being a LL will out way this. Back to the advice if I had to take him to court I would go in with something more solid. You could play it out for the 2 months and it will annoy him but at the end of the day this is it worth it.
Check your agreement on the Bf front
  • What do you mean play it out for 2months??

If i go to court about anything else i wont get anything out of him

Basically hes going to get away with being the worst landlord and making money on MY deposit.

If you are happy to be out AND you get all your deposit back I would just walk away and put everything down to experience.

If you start proceedings and therefore put this person back into your life you have no idea where it will lead and what trouble may lay ahead.

Revenge is never worth the effort.

I mentioned play it out for two months as this thread is about pay back for emotional stress and you said you were not going to sue him until he messed you about fair play i see your point but any jury court will see whats this is all about and maybes fine him but on that issue you will not recieve compensation for it.
  • Thanks guys..maybe i wont sue him then. So annoying that hes done this and got away with it!

It doesn't go before a Jury, and the compensation IS the penalty, so he won't get fined. Other than that, spot on as usual.
