LG GT505 - need advice please

I have got the LG GT505 on contract and have had since Jan this year. 18mth contract so not up until July 2011. My problem is that since may time the screen has been freezing now and then. It refixes itself after about 48hrs and then works perfectly. But since last Sunday the screen has not been working at all. I can not get it to work by touching the screen at all. Nothing works, can't call anyone, text, change settings, web browse...nothing happens. I have took battery out, wiped SIM, put it all back together but still nothing.

Up until now I have never needed the phone insurance so we always cancel ours when the initial 3 free months is up.

Has anyone else had this problem with the screen freezing etc?

What can I do in terms of phone? Are LG still responsbile as I have had the phone 7 months? I got the phone through another phone company, not LG direct.

I know many of you will say we should have kept up the monthly phone insurance but we have never felt the need or wanted in all the years we have had previous phones.

Any advice will help, thanks in advance.

    LG offer a 24 month warranty on all their handsets, try a master reset using the LG code (which escapes me at the moment) and if that fails then contact LG so they can repair it
