Orange Livebox setup probs..

Hi,

Wonder if I can pick the brain of a tech savvy MSE..

I joined Orange recently and got the broadband as part of the package. I received my Livebox on saturday but am having trouble with the setup...

Their instructions are clear and easy to follow and I have got 99% of it correct, the problem is that the ethernet cable that connects the Livebox to my pc doesn't fit into my pc - is there another cable that I can purchase or some kind of adapter that i can buy??

I called the Orange helpline and the guy wasn't very helpful and said I should just go wirelss, something i don't want to do for now.

Can anyone please help me? :wall:

Just get yourself an Ethernet card for your PC. Even if you do connect using wireless it is best to have one PC connected using Ethernet.

if your computer is less than 4 years old - then I would have thought that it came with an ethernet port as standard

... but a new card should be straight forward for you to install

    It's an HP7919, I bought it from a friend and I think it's a 2000 model.
I had a look at the manual yesterday and it seems straight forward, thanks for your concern
  • After FOUR Liveboxes none of which worked I gave up on 'em
