I bought the Argos ones for my mum and they are lethal - they stick to the tiles until you put any weight on them (my mum weighs under 8 stone) and won't even stick to the untiled part of the wall at all although it is perfectly flat and non-greasy. Should really have taken them back but we ended up having them for a month before trying them so didn't like to. Social Services installed proper ones for her - can you get permission from the landlord? I'm sure most people would be reasonable about this as long as you reinstate when the tenancy ends (although unless the area is very cramped I wouldn't have thought it was really necessary as they are not that unsightly and could prove useful for subsequent tenants).0

I bought one from Asda. When I first positioned it came off 24 hours later but then I followed the instructions and cleaned the area properly with white spirit and it has stuck like glue since. We have removed it a couple of times since but always clean the area before replacing it. I would definitely recommend them.0
