hi - hope someone can help with this question..
my laptop power supply died. the old one was a toshiba model PA-1750-09
Input 100-240V 50-60Hz 1.5A
Output 19V 3.95A
I'm considering buying a Belkin NBKADAP because it can charge in the car too but the Output is is different. Will it charge my laptop correctly and still work with even though the beklin one has a 3A output? thanks.
Belkin
Input voltage: 90 ~ 264Vac RMS (100-240Vac nominal)
Input voltage: 11.5Vdc ~ 16Vdc
Output Voltage: 10.5Vdc – 19Vdc
Output Current (Continuous): 1.75A-3A@10.5V-19Vdc
Output power 40W MAX

No, it probably won't do. At 19V it will only be capable of delivering 1.75 Amps, so you may find the voltage dropping away when high-current events occur - such as spinning up the hard drive.
You need to find one capable of at least 3.95 Amps at 19V (i.e. just under 80W power output).0 -
Nowhere near man enough for the job, you need a PSU rated at 75W (3.95A @ 19V) or more.
When buying your new PSU, make sure the polarity is correct...the resultant bang if it isn't correct is quite impressive to say the least.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
the oem / belkin will not last as long. Go for a toshiba genuine0

Just a word, if I may.
I went to Currys and was quoted £50 plus for a pattern one and about £120 for a genuine Toshiba one.
I left and went to a small independant and got a genuine Toshiba for £35.
Just be aware Currys, PC World, Dixons are rip off merchants.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Those that purchase at the first shop they come to normally end up paying through the nose, and those smart enough to look around normally end up saving.genuine toshiba = £35, PC World £120, you do the maths
That's called common sense, and math has nowt to do with that.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
If I were after a replacement, I'd buy one new at £12.99 - shipped from within the UK postage free - from Ebay. It may be a pattern part rather than Toshiba branded, but I wouldn't care at that price.
Just put the part number into Ebay search and you'll find it (and lots of more expensive ones too).0 -
Thanks, RDPRO
kW, isnt that what rip off actually means,
I despair of these posters sometimes, i really do, when you genuinely try to help, this OP and others reading it
