Rainham is OK to raise a family, but maybe not for a single flat.
The only "bad" part of Rochester is John Street which is council and not likely available to OP, or the High Street on a weekend when it becomes a war zone.Been away for a while.0 -

Medway is cheap for a reason, but is not as bad as some make out.
Same with Gravesend and Dartford.
There are lots of places out there that are OK, not the best but OK to good.
St Marys Island, Rainham, Hempsted, Kemsley, Some parts of Rochester etc But the good parts are expensive like anywhere in the SE0 -

I nearly rented near the Casinos, but that was a while ago  Scary place to be on a weekendI think it is a great area though for a young person, not too bad but avoid Casinos if you can

I wouldn't buy in derwent way, or around scott avenue. parkwood is pretty much fine, although i'd be (personally) wary of living in the roads immediately surrounding arkwood shops, as the kids tend to hand around, my friend lives in the road behind and has had some issuse with children where polive got involved (climbing on garages, petty vandalism to garages)0

I wouldn't fancy the Tideway area or Cookham wood either.0 -
