Yes, that's the problem. P&P is the same price as the cutters :eek: & can't afford to spend £50 to get free P&P :rotfl::rotfl: xxSmall business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -

It's nicer than cauliflower and has a very short season so I buy it, blanch it and freeze it.
I don't think you can get it in the major supermarkets, I buy from our local green-grocers.0 -
Hi, I've posted this on the Lidl thread but thought that some of you might be interested:
:snow_laugLots of lovely German traditional Christmas goodies in stock at Lidl yesterday. Gluhwein, stollen, gingerbread houses etc. I couldn't resist a Christmas musical box (tin) containing chocolate teddies for £4.99. It plays 'Oh Christmas tree' so sweet, and could be refilled every year. Maybe useful for hampers?
I picked up a brochure called Magical Christmas Market so if anyone would like prices of anything...
It's starting to feel like Christmas!!!:xmassmileThe beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Please and Thank You are the magic words;)0 -
None of us eat Christmas cake either, and as I've just started baking I've decided to bake Lemon Drizzle Cake for the Christmas Table, as we all love it, and I thought the lemon drizzle could be made a bit thicker than usual and would make a great snowy topping!0

Just been into MrM's, they have mini Xmas puds (100g) on offer 3 for £2, useful for anyone doing a food hamper. They have about 5 varities, incl their low fat range, but also some interesting ones like choc & orange.

I'm thinking of getting some and we have a Lakeland close-ish. I could get you one and post it to you if you send me money or PayPal it, as it won't cost as much as Lakeland P&P if you like?0 -
Hi All!
I've been lurking for a while and thought I'd post.
My first batch of Delia's Xmas puddings (1 large, 1 individual) are steaming away at the moment, and the mincemeat is in the oven. I've been wandering around singing "Its beginning to smell a lot like Christmas..." as the whole house smells strongly of those warm spices.:j
I've made a Xmas card list, and identified who will be getting "real cards" (left over from last year) and who will be getting eCards.
I ordered some of the cellophane wrapping and ribbon, as I'll be giving my close colleagues mini Xmas cakes and a jar of matured chutney each as gifts. I might make some of the Bailey's fudge as well.
I've got my best friend's gifts sorted, with a few extras now from the Bargain book place - what a find!
I've run out of sultanas, otherwise I'd be starting today on more mincemeat, Xmas puddings, and the fruit for Xmas cakes. I'll be doing the mini one's in bean tins as was suggested earlier in the thread, and I'm making one of DH's parents. Her health is now poor and she misses her homemade Xmas cake.:(
I, for once, feel quite chilled about Xmas. We're using the same tree and decs as last year, I've made a menu plan and a shopping list to discuss with my butcher and the farm shop. At this point it just feels like making a special Sunday roast, as I've broken the concept down into manageable chunks, and have a plan for all the gifts etc.
Financially all is looking good, I've been saving every month towards this, and my butcher runs a Xmas club, so I have some money saved there as well. The cost of the ingredients for the edible gifts is minimal, and has been spread out by making a start early. :money:
In summary - my house smells divine and its all looking good!!:T
