Appologies for my sudden disappearance last night without saying goodnight. I didnt plug adaptor in lappy and it went off so just went to bed! :p

Fin, glad LJH got home ok :) My dope has just gone to bed with man flu. He said he's staying in bed all day tomorrow. (Wish I could stay in bed with a sniffle!) God help if he got real flu!

Sounds like you got a bagain Katie :) I just put my tree up too.

Nursery still not open as the snow has damaged the roof around it but rest of school still open.

Hey redbull, glad you had a good night with your friends. :)

Off to bed, night peeps ;) xx

    Hiya All :santa2:

    Hope everyone is well

hugs and kisses to all that need them

    VIRUS ALERT!!!

Update: 07/12 13:12 it appears that there wasn't a trojan just a dodgy image which was linked to a warez site and it appears that you would have had to have visited the dodgy warez site for any infection to have taken place

just a heads up if anyone has clicked on the "Download Buyer" thread below

E: dupe Win £5,000 software prizes - daily winners (Advent) posted 02/12

the thread has now been removed after I reported it ;)

now still might be a good time to check for any virus's though

there was a hidden image file and script in the thread which contained the following
HTML/Iframe.B.Gen virus which is a trojan

The IFrame.B.Gen virus is mostly in the HTML or PHP code.... we cannot see it because it's hidden - mostly this wirus is a hyperlink to some web-page in china

details of the virus can be found here
    http://sunbeltsecurity.com/threatdisplay.aspx?name=HTML.ScrInject.B.Gen%20virus&tid=4636005&cs=0EB96E89BFEBE9D91E7BE18ED199BC9B

if you have clicked on the link you might be infected please run anti-virus on you computer to check for infection

if you do not have anti-virus software on your computer and you would like to check for infection use this free on-line virus checker
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/

or download Malwarebytes free Anti Malware software here
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

[STRIKE]this appears to be another serious breach of MSE security as the thread has been active since the 2nd of December albeit for most of the time in GAME OVER :([/STRIKE]

it makes me wonder does MSE not scan the threads on the forums for virus's and Trojans and if they do why was the Trojan on the thread for nearly 5 day's and not picked up by there software and deleted

Update: I have posted a Virus Alert in Site Feedback
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/39143662#Comment_39143662

This appears to be more serious than I first thought as the HTML/Iframe.B.Gen virus\Trojan appears to be associated with HACKERS!

    interesting post here
    http://www.todleho.com/ppl/blog/view...-virus%22-but/

Hmm! I wonder if there any more malicious links that have been inserted into HTML or PHP code on MSE that have not been detected :(

Just had a major shock the postie has just delivered a nice Christmas present from our Housing Association

they are to increase there communal heating charges in the New Year from £34.30 to £74.39 per month a monthly increase of £40.09 percentage wise this is a whopping increase of 116.9% :(

the communal heating charges are not included in our Housing Benefit so the extra charges will come directly out of our pocket

Gosh thats a lot Amilucky. We pay £88 for a 5 bedroom house with a minimum of 4 people in it. Expect that will go up in April mind you when the contract with E-on comes to an end. (The way we are using heating at the moment it could go up before then)

Have just been talked into looking after a neighbours house while he goes off to Florida, back to his London flat and then off to Egypt until February! Bit worried about having the responsibility but he has no-one else to ask really. We have the same boiler etc and we aren't going away so haven't really an excuse. How the other half live!

I have to disagree ClosingTime think that the bankers should be the first under the gun followed by all of the bankers in parliament who claimed outageous expenses for years before getting there hands caught in the till

at the end of the day whenever there is a recession "the poor always pay more" but the banks and the mega rich just carry on regardless and usually make money out of the recession and peoples unfortunate misery ;)

It does seem a lot as we only have a 1 bedroom flat whoever we are able to have the heating on 24 hours a day :)
  • I just took the Bankers and MP's as a given amilucky ;)
