Hello everyone - this is my first post in this forum.

Can anyone tell me how email or online competition draws work? You, and many others, email, or enter a simple answer, to an inbox - how then do they draw the winner. Also some say you can enetr by post - how are these entered fairly?

Do you stand less of a chance if you have ticked "NO" to news letters or other contacts?

Finally - does anyone regulate the fairness?

    Thanks

I have found these ones which include ones that are worldwide, but I haven't found a purely UK based one either:

Something in THIS POST caught my eye.

It seems that to sabotage other comper's entries, some people go so far as to edit facts on Wikipedia so that others enter with the wrong answer.

Hi, I just wanted to know if most people don't like me posting blog giveaways? If so, I will stop posting them.

A lot of blogs actively encourage people to share their giveaways on dedicated 'giveaway blogs' etc and don't seem to mind as it gives them more publicity too, but recently I have had a few blog writers asking me to remove their giveaways, and I know a lot of people on MSE don't like the fact that on a lot of them your email address is visible when you enter. If I am causing more annoyance to people than anything else I will happily stop and I'm sorry to have caused trouble. (I have noticed a few wins, and I have won from some of these giveaways, also I have noticed those kind of things posted on MSE before I started finding some).

Thanks Kaz for posting, I have entered a few but they take so long and so boring I can't be bothered half the time, the searching ones get on my nerves. If you can put 'blog' in the main title it would be helpful.

Keep at it and hope some of you are winners!

It's sad, but it has been done before a few times, I remember on the classic fm thread this year when i spent a bank holiday helping search on that thread that some answers were recently removed on wiki,
It is petty and pathetic xxxxxxx
