Settlement Figure For Injury To Shoulder

I had an accident at work where a heavy item fell on my shoulder and injured my wrist and shoulder together with my forearm
I had to go to hospital and they confirmed I had soft injury damage
The company wants to settle this claim - They have not suggested a figure yet - How can I be sure that what they offer me is fair? I also have the option of going to a no win no fee solicitor but think it might be better to avoid that
Thank you in advance

its what you think is fair, going to no win no fee wont look good when you still work for the employer as it will cost a lot lot more.0

How long ago was the accident and more importantly, has your injury resolved? Have they obtained a medical report? There is no way you should be agreeing a figure if your symptoms are still ongoing.0

Thanks
The accident happened 3 months ago and I have now fully recovered - I did not take any time off work
The injury was soft tissue damage and some brusiing - Are there any tables that give an indication on what the compensation is?0 -

That shouldn't be a consideration.
The employer's insurer will be paying out, not the employers themselves. All employers have to have compulsory liability insurance to cover their employees, and must post up their certificate where the employees can see it!
A good employer wouldn't be concerned how much this was going to cost.
OP - are you in a union? If so they will help with a solicitor, otherwise get your own - no win no fee if necessary, but you ought to be properly represented.0 -
Thanks

what are you claiming compensation for then?
sorry if this sounds stupid, i have not spent much time on this board so dont know much about comp claims, but if there was no loss of earnings and no permenant injury, what do you claim for0 -
Pain and suffering/inconvenience/out of pocket expenses/visiting doctors/hospitals etc etc0

Nothing to do with America. The right to compensation has been enshrined in UK law for a very long time.
OP, I can give you an idea of what compensation you can expect but not right now as it's late and I have been drinking too much wine.0 -
hence the insurance companys banging premiums up.0

OK, I had a quick look at the JSB guidelines this morning (this is a publication that insurers and solicitors use) and these are the figures for a minor shoulder injury.
Soft tissue injury to shoulder with considerable pain but almost complete recovery:
(i) in less than two years; £2,750 to £5,000
(ii) within a year. Up to £2,750
Your symptoms lasted three months but you did also have injury to the wrist and forearm, I would suggest you should be looking to settle at around £1,000.0
