So I can get MS Office installed via download or usb, so that's one less concern!
What is the brand MSI like? I have never heard of them...
Are any of the Acer / Samsung/ Sony Netbooks any good?

MSI, much like ASUS are mainboard and component designers and manufacturers.
They should have some little idea of how to put components together.
Best advice I can give is to try it. If you don't like it, send it back.0
