Hi there just bought and received a mobile from mobiles.co.uk, its a nokia 6303i with o2 sim and a £10 airtime voucher that I receive 8 days after purchase.
Now what I was wondering, is it normal that I can't receive calls before its topped up? trying on my old mobile/old sim I get rejected and my home phone gets a dead tone, if this could be a problem what shall I do? Chase up O2 or mobiles.co.uk about it or wait for the voucher and decide then?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Correct. Applying credit activates the number to allow it to make and receive calls. You will either need to wait until the £10 you bought at purchase is applied, or buy another topup before then.
