  • I have a few products with 02 - they credit checked me for the first (my iphone) but the mobile broadband with laptop they did not, and recently, a second phone, they did not. They have used account behaviour only when making a decision.

Well I've just checked my Experian report and as I thought there is no external credit check recorded from 3 mobile.
I think they just couldn't ID me with my card, will have to check with Sygma if £1.95 came off the card.

But 3 treat you as a new customer!

I took out a Sim Zero just as I was discharged from Bankruptcy. Since them I have taken out two additional contracts (so three in total two of which are now on £0 line rental).

The subsequent two contracts, one a Nokia E63 and the other a Sony Xperia X10, were not credit searched atall; there's no trace of Three doing a search subsequent to the one for Sim Zero on my credit files :o
    Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Hi izools, did they say to you when you took out a second contract it would need a credit check? Because they took my details like I was a brand new customer, previous address etc, employment.
It was funny when I gave my Silver (Sygma) card details the adviser thought it an M&S credit card? Although M&S cards have the same first 4 digits!!!

Glad there wasn't another search with Experian, got too many already

Yes they took all my details again but no actual credit check was done with Experian. I gave them my Barclaycard details for the £1.95 fee as my Silver card didn't work.

Sygma's system has trouble with transactions that originate from outside the UK.

That's interesting what you say about Sygma? I couldn't find my Vanquis card, so the Silver was nearest to me!
I used my Silver card to buy perfume from Jersey Channel Islands, but 3's customer services are in India, so maybe that was the problem.
